Girl or boy ?

Hi,

We are big fans of Boowa and Kwala... And of your great work. However, one question troubles my daughter Julie (3 years old)... Why is Kwala a girl in English and a boy in French? Why aren't there any girls in Boowa and Kwala ?

In French, Kwala is referred to as "lui", which is neutral. She is neither a girl nor a boy. In English she is very clearly a girl, so no problem there !
I think that most kids relate to Kwala as a girl very naturally in both rench and English...
