Strange accents from across the world

My 4 year old son has been visiting UTT almost daily for hours at a time since he was 3. Initially he was facinated by the "funny" talking people, in particular, the phrase "potato colour" from a colouring game. Now we have "hot, hot" (with accent)when taking a shower (just like the Boowa/Kwala shower game). He cannot master the motorbike race game no matter how hard he tries ... but he does keep trying, which is the whole point isn't it. His computer skills are outrageously fantastic since spending time with UTT. His favourite phrase is "can I go on the internet mum?" - call me oldfashioned, but this coming from a 4 y/o. In the last two weeks he has progressed one step further, he can actually log onto the net himself and find UTT in favourites, open it up and get started playing/learning. I'm becoming obsolete! Thank you so much for providing such good fun and education all mixed in together.

Hi Kathy,

Thank you very much for your comments, Kathy.
This shows our fans who are not anglo-saxon, that Kwala is also appreciated abroad for her "odd" accent (not always correctly identified as a French accent).
In the French version Boowa has a slight British accent; but some fans (especially in Africa) hear it as an African accent. That's great !

Comments like yours bring home to us the extent to which Boowa and Kwala are part of the life of children. They use or adapt some of the fun phrases and songs that they hear on the site.
We are happy to know that your son is making progress thanks in part to us - it is very touching.

As for the motor bike game... it is a game designed for kids aged 6 and more. Your son is probably not ready for it yet.
As you say, it is important to try and not to give up, not necessarily to succeed (as long as it does not become frustrating nor obsessive).
We would be happy to hear how youe son gets on.
Thank you again for your letter.

Yours sincerely

Véronique Barnard
