English

Could you please distinguish between English (UK) and English (American)? We love this site but it would help us if it used the correct spelling for us (being English) - for example the colouring page (not coloring!). I know there are only a few differences but it is frustrating when we are trying to use the site as an educational tool!

PS Our 3 year old is a big Boowa & Kwala fan!!

Hi Rosanne

We have been thinking about this one for a while now. I am English by birth, but used "Americanisms" with the aim of being as international as possible. Initially, the site was not used much in schools, and we did not get many visitors from the UK.
The fact that US schools use the site extensively and that some UK schools are now starting to use the site too means that a rethink is probably in order.
If we have a public for a "UK" version, then we could have both UK and American versions seperately... This would be a fairly big job for us so we need to be sure that there is a demand.

Any takers?

PS. Don't forget that Boowa has a very British accent, don't you know ;o)

Jason Barnard

British English

I am a Venezuelan who learnt my English in London. Nowadays I am a grand parent and starting to a probably good effort to teach my grand children some English (British, of course, it is the one I know more or less). This is my first visit to this place which seems great. I offer to share what I learn with anyone interested.
